Buckley's Best Bitter was originally created at Buckleys Brewery, Llanelli, in 1797, but since the company was bought in 1997, it is now brewed by the S.A. Brains brewery in Cardiff.

Mostly distributed in West Wales, Buckley's Bitter is very similar in character to Brains Bitter, the alcohol content is the same (3.7% ABV), and there is the same lightness in the pint. The major difference is the aftertaste, which is a lot nuttier in this pint. This is probably due to the inclusion of Challenger hops, as well as the Fuggles and Goldings hops that are in Brains Bitter.
