Celtic mythology but also an historical person. Earliest biography is Vitae Brigatae by Cogitosus dating to the 7th century. Probably lived in the 5th to 6th century c.e., she was the founder-abbess of the monastery at Kildare. Much of her life is based on legend with direct links to the supernatural. She was the patron of prophets and seers.
