Strong Together United Forever, They're the Best of Friends, but when trouble's about you best watch out. For the WATCHMEN!
The classic iconic
graphic novel by
Alan Moore and
Dave Gibbons, took the comic and literature worlds by storm, almost two decades ago, but in March of 2009 as fans were eagerly awaiting a long-awaited big budget
Hollywood big screen treatment of the classic tale, HarryPartridge AKA Happy Harry put an adaptation of a different kind on
Newgrounds and
YouTube, a parody of the dark violent comic series as a sanitized Saturday morning kids cartoon. The video features many references to classic animated series such as
He-Man,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Jem ,
Scooby-Doo, and
Turbo Teen, to name a few and well as references and/or unintentional mistakes only
diehard fans who have read the book and/or seen the movie would get (for example,
Rorschach WAS never nice to those
German Shepherds;
Bubastis,
Ozymandias's pet
lynx was female and couldn't talk, and the like, I won't mention anymore because they are
spoilers). The video has caused its own fandom within the fandom with fans who “remember" the show and "recalling" the classic episodes.
The video can also be compared to "Watchmen Babies: V for Vacation" as featured on The Simpsons.
