Sean Gullette was born in 1968 in New York. He attended Harvard University, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1991. After college, Gullette trained as an actor in both New York and London. Gullette first started his acting career in the theater, and starred in plays such as Peer Gynt, No Exit, and Curse of the Starving Class. The first film that Gullette appeared in was Supermarket Sweep, a short film done at Harvard by Gullette's friend Darren Aronofsky. However, Gullette first received national acclaim for his acting skills in 1998, for his lead role as Max Cohen in the movie Pi, where he played a troubled mathematician on the brink of discovering the key to mathematical occurrences in nature. Gullette also co-wrote Pi with Darren Aronofsky and Eric Watson. Since then, Gullette has played supporting roles in a few other films, including Requiem for a Dream and Happy Accidents.
