The Sharp X1 Twin was a
Japanese PC made by (who else?)
Sharp in
April of
1989.
Technical details are sparse, but it definitely wasn't a
286. With a nice black finish (and one of those neat twirly
Mac-like
keyboard cords), the X1 Twin was set
vertically, uncommon back then for a personal computer. And much like a
C64 and its brethren, you could use it on your
TV.
The greatest part about the X1 Twin (and the only reason I'm writing this node) is that with a flick of a switch, you could play PC Engine (TG16) games. Just insert the game card and off you go. Sharp even made sure to include a gamepad.
And like any other really cool thing, Sharp made a limited number of them. When will people learn that consoles and computers don't mix?!
