Sheitan

Sheitan (also spelled Shaitan) is an Arabic term for a demon or devil. The Sheitan were fathered by Iblis and were considered to be a fourth race of jinn. "Sheitan" bears a strong similarity to the Hebrew word Satan (meaning "adversary") but these words are not etymologically related.

Shai"tan, Shei"tan (?), n. [Hind. shaitan, fr. Ar. shaitan.] Written also sheytan.
