Known Unknowns
All the things you know you don't know.
Unknown Unknowns
All the things you know you don't know.
Errors
All the things you think you know buy don't.
Unknown Knowns
All the things you don't know you know (subception, tacit knowing).
Taboo
Dangerous, forbidden or polluting knowledge.
Denial
All the things too painful to know, so you don't.
I came across this in my
sophomore English class at
Buena High School, taught by
Mrs. Gloria Roka. She picked it up at something called “A Workshop on Ignorance” (I always thought that whoever named that had a sense of humor). The
professor who wrote this was
C.A. Kerwin, who I
believe teaches at the
University of Arizona.
It seems strange, but I often think about these categories while using Everything.
