When you refer to
skeletons in the
closet, you are referring to
deeply held secrets. This is because you put things you want to hide in the closet(See:

Ellen DeGeneres). Things which happened in your past make great closet skeletons! A few examples:
1. You had sex with your girlfriend's sister.
2. Your girlfriend's sister had sex with your girlfriend.
3. You accidentally killed a prostitute in Vegas during a wild party.(See:

4. You accidentally
killed an old person.
5. Your
business trip didn't involve usual business.
Notice how all the skeletons in the closet revolve around you? Because no one else knows. Or do they?
