A pitstop town located 50 kilometers north of Vancouver, British Columbia within the Sea to Sky Corridor on the tip of Howe Sound. As far as outsiders are concerned, Squamish is nothing more than a place to gas up or to grab a bite to eat at McDonald's en route to Whistler.

Squamish sports a deep sea port, however logging is Squamish's primary industry. The world loggers sports competition occurs in Squamish every year.

Squamish also features the world's second largest piece of granite known as the Stawamus Chief, next to Gibralter.
