The cathedral at
Naples contains a vial of dried
blood, allegedly that of St. Januarius. Eighteen times a year, during certain
religious festivals of the
Roman Catholic church, the relic is displayed. At these times, the blood is said to liquefy, and this is considered a
miracle by believers in the Roman Catholic church.
