If a rich man came to my door one day

and he gave me a ring

and the ring had a diamond big as my head

and if he got down on his knee and he said

Susan

my treasure my light and my love

will you marry me

I’d have to say no

same as I would if a man who was poor

came on his bended knee to my door

and said

Susan

my love my treasure my light

I’ll be a rich man if you’ll be my wife

I would refuse him and send him away

but men don’t go down on their knee for me now

neither scenario is likely these days

I don’t go down on my knees for them either

and my name isn’t Susan anyway.
