Look, it's like this:

We've eaten up the Arthurian,
the Chinese Night Lady, she's gotten old.
We've had our fill of steel katanas,
and the burnoosed Lawrencian vibe.

Sex is kind of old hat, and violence?
We've kind got that down.
But last Monday was the zeitgeist,
And you monkeys missed it all.

You should have seen it coming,
but you weren't old enough at that.
We drank down all the music,
and had our drugs and rock and roll.

And now we're old and bitter,
and all our dreams have died.
And we've forgotten what we realized:
we were the zeitgeist all along.
