Tom Goes to the Mayor is a funny 15-minute show featured on
Adult Swim about the
misadventures of
Tom Peters, a new resident of
Jefferton, as he tries to help the city through its mayor and
city council.
As much help as Jefferton needs, neither Tom, the Mayor, or the council have what it takes to make anything better. They have meetings at a local buffet resteraunt, where Tom is encouraged in his efforts to improve the city.
The style of the animation is very unusual in that the characters are scripted on video, from which still frames are taken and passed through an image filter. These character images are then put over drawn backgrounds together with actual images and video to produce a unique visual experience.
