An italian phrase. In english, it translates to "Let us go back to the past; it will be a step forward." The phrase dates back to the 19th century and was written by the italian composer Giuseppe Verdi in a letter to Francesco Florimo. He is also known to have said this to many aspiring composers of his time. There is a touch of nostalgia in a number of Verdi's operas that leads one to believe this was not a simple thought, but a philosophy.

Also, inside the sleeve of Weezer's green album is found the same phrase, which in their case means "Let us go back to the blue album, it shall be more lucrative."
