Unfortunately they are known for the infamous Valujet flight 592 out of Miami when the DC-9 caught fire and crashed out of control into a swamp. The final ruling was that this crash was the fault of Valujet's contract maintenance company who stored oxygen canisters on the airplane improperly. Valujet has since changed their name to Airtran and moved home bases. They are doing quite well still.
