Wan Hu (Wahn-HOO)

  • Legend - circa 1500 a.d.

    Chinese government official and inventor. Using a wicker chair, he strapped 47 rockets to a platform. The chair was secured onto the platform. All of his servants approached and lit the rockets at the same time. A loud rumbling could be heard, followed by billowing smoke. The chair, and Wan Hu were never found again.

    His objective was the moon. Wan Hu is considered to have given his life to the advancement of rocketry.
