A
handy piece of
advice given to us by the
manufacturers of folding
step ladders, usually on a big
orange sticker with a diagram of the non-step in question. Its purpose is to keep you and I,
deranged and
stupid as we are, from stepping on the little
shelf attached to the support side of the
ladder. Nevermind that there are
no other steps on that side of the ladder to begin with, and that the shelf is obviously supported by
tiny,
fragile hinges. They know it's either
loudly and
obsessively remind us now, or face endless, expensive
litigation later.
Note, this sticker is not to be confused with the "Warning: This Is Not A Steppe" sign often posted on or near prairies and savannas outside of Asia and Southeastern Europe.
