Kyle Baker's graphic novel is one of the most effective girlfriend comics ever: it's convinced dozens of non-comics readers that their SO spending all that time and money hanging out in the comic store isn't such a stupid idea after all.

Hip, funny, cynical, and so stylish it hurts, 'Why I Hate Saturn' is centred on a New York writer, and skips merrily around all the dilemmas of dating, the definitions of cool, and what to do if your sister believes she is the Queen of the Leather Astro Girls from Saturn.

Wave this around in groovy cafes, and, if you can stop snickering and grinning long enough you might notice the gleams of attention you are getting from all the cool kids.

Published by Piranha Press, but reprinted recently by Vertigo.
