Afpfs is a kernel-level patch for mounting Apple Filing System shares under Linux. It allows for remote mounting of drives and folders served from a machine running MacOS, a *NIX with netatalk or (less likely) Windows NT server or higher running a AFP server.

It currently compiles independently and purportedly works under kernel 2.2.
It is heavy alpha software, so not only does it rely on netatalk to set up interfaces, it is more prone to crashing, and will likely take your Linux system down with it.

It's maintained by David Foster after Ben Hekster stopped support on it. Unfortunately, David seems to have slowed his work on the package to near standstill. If you would like to take it for a spin, go to http://www.panix.com/~dfoster/afpfs/

Update: Neil Mock has registered a space for afpfs at sourceforge. Unfortunately, there seems to be no code change but he is accepting ideas for how to plan the future of afpfs
