I wrote this entire song on the train one morning, after adapting the 'I can't be a man, you won't let me be a monster' from a Spike quote in a late season 6 Buffy episode. I was listening to Drowning Pool and thinking of how simple their structure is, but how effective it can be, and so thought this type of song would be good to start our new band line up.
I'm still trying to figure out the exact type of melody I want to sing this song with, and how much repetition of the chorus to use, but I'm sure that will come out once we start attempting to put some music to it. It was a refreshing change to write such a simple song after some of the more complicated 'story telling' lyrics I've been writing lately.
Any comments/suggestions/criticism welcome, via write-up or message.
I am a part of the band Askew, and have written other lyrics. A young adult from Melbourne, Australia.
Used to have a website that would explain a lot about me, but it's gone.
Vocalist in a metal band with some friends, called 'Askew'.
I've been noding my original lyrics, in the hope that somebody will like them. Don't know if this is a good idea or not, but I don't have much else to say.
I like this place, I love the idea of a huge, neural linked database. Unfortunately, whilst my grammar and vocabulary are fairly good, I have found that when I try to use them to actually *write* anything, it usually comes out a rambling mess of crap. So, I'll try. This place is meant to help me become a better writer, right?
My girlfriend has just recently become addicted to E2, also.
I've been told to explicate my lyrics, so I won't be putting up anymore lyrics nodes till I've done this on all my existing ones.
