Cemetery Sentiments

hovered o’er
reminiscing at dawn
I droop my head lower
see a passing fawn

my views of her
replay at a snail’s pace
for her place is better
tears fall from my face

descending lifelessly, smudging her last written letter
on this lifeless hatchment
my thoughts like myrrh
my emotions lament
my blood, cipher
my determination makes no dent
it’s as if we lovers
were never together meant
