Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar 1/3 cup butter or margarine 1 1/2 cups graham cracker (or substitute) crumbs

Special equipment: A springform pan is the best for many kinds of desserts which use a graham cracker crust - e.g. New York Cheesecake or Key Lime Pie. In practice, any suitably deep round or square dish which will go in the oven is acceptable. This recipe expects a 9 inch ( 23 - 25 cm ) pan.

Gently melt the butter and mix in the other ingredients (either in the saucepan or in the "pie dish"). Press down evenly into the dish and cook for 7 to 8 minutes at 375 degrees Farenheit ( 190 degrees Celcius or Gas Mark 5. Allow to cool.
