This is a parody of W. B. Yeats's absolutely fabulous poem He wishes for the Cloths of Heaven. If you haven't read the original poem, suffice it to say that you won't really get this (so go read it now!).

Had I the latest in-fashion shoes,
Enlaced with golden and purple thread,
The soft and the sleek and the smart shoes
Of Niké, Puma, Adidas thread,
I would place these shoes upon your feet:
But I, being tall, can reach only your hands;
I have placed them on your hands, not feet;
Tread carefully: your shoes are on your hands.

Written by me, with apologies to Yeats.
