Mirtazapine (Remeron®) is a tetracyclic antidepressant with the formula C17H19N3.

Common side effects are somnolence, increased appetite, weight gain, and dizziness, and dry mouth. As with many antidepressants, mirtazapine is additive with alcohol in the impairment of cognitive and motor skills.
