'Organza' is a type of
sheer, lightweight
fabric, with a medium to high
yarn count. It is generally made from
silk,
rayon,
nylon, or
polyester. It is much finer than
tissue, and can be crinkled upon
steaming. Organza with a higher percentage of silk is considered to be finer, and is generally more expensive. The finest organza is called '
Kataan Organza'.
Organza is most often used in evening and wedding apparel for women.
