A psychological agreement is a term for so-called "quiet agreement" that is a built-in feature of each agreement ever made. Psychologists, Edgar Sehein as one of the founding fathers, have studied this a lot and the majority of studies have been made on work contracts: What do the parties expect from the other that is not written down on the paper?

These expectations come from tradition and therefore they are somewhatta conscious. That's why the effects of psychological agreement may surprise those who come from different cultural background. When a conflict happens they are difficult to deal with. For example, we have seen how employees are expected to work overtime without hesitation. On the other hand, when there are denouncements in a company a psychological agreement is deceived and many things has to be rethought.
