her bare shoulder blades

were as sharp as I imagined they would be 

 

as I traced them with awkward hands 

in the dim light of a library hallway

 

trying to capture the moment:

a tactile snapshot:  a memory of the texture  

 

with eyes closed, I imagined painting them as a mountain range

just as she inhaled,  lips by my right ear
