This French phrase meaning "nothing goes anymore" is the traditional phrase to signify "no more bets" in
every high-class game of
roulette, and sometimes even other games such as
Baccara. It is not usually translated, though a translation is sometimes appended.
When this call comes is entirely up to the croupier. In many cases, if not most, it comes quite some time after the wheel has been spun and the ball inserted, since the spin can easily last a few minutes, and dependable predictions about the outcome cannot yet be made.
