Spitz are a brand of roasted sunflower seeds sold in Canada and perhaps elsewhere. They come in resealable plastic bags in sizes of 1/4 pound, 1/2 pound and up. While they prominantly claim to contain no cholesterol, they do contain enough salt to make your arteries practically shatter. Also, they contain delicious amounts of MSG which probably accounts for at least part of why they are so addictively tasty. Places you are likely to see Spitz include baseball games, where they are a staple. Rumour has it that university students can actually survive several weeks eating nothing but Spitz and drinking Coca Cola. One final source of entertainment that can be derived from this snack food are the humourous comments that can be derived by relating its name to the practice of oral sex. Think about it, kids.
