Ive never seen you read poetry
Ive never seen you write poetry
I never knew you liked it
Just like the red
But that night you recited a verse
One I know, but caught myself
You spoke from your heart
Mine locked away for a rainy day
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
Entranced in a look
“Why did you say that?”
Brushing a tear from my eye
“It seemed appropriate”
