As if
elevator music weren't enough, my building has recently outfitted its elevators with LCD panels that constantly cycle through irrelevant "news" flashes, split-screened with
advertisements. The company,
Captivate, apparently believes that viewers' attention spans are only long enough for a single-sentence headline, often barely enough to fit the title of the movie it's "reviewing." If you're tempted to read longer, they'll turn you away with
animated ads (most looking like a beginner's efforts with
Flash) flickering across the bottom of the screen.
Who will be the first to give AirSnort a run against the 802.11b wireless network that apparently powers the screens?
