The
genre of music embodied by the likes of
Britney Spears and
Christina Aguilera. Musically,
Lolitapop is fluff:
electronic,
over-produced and usually unoriginal.
Its appeal often stems from male schoolgirl fetishes or, in the case of straight, often pre-pubescent females, from a desire to emulate them.
Lolitapop, understandably, is quite popular in Japan; Kahimi Karie, Chara (though her music is better, the image/persona is similar) and many others.
