Today I remembered why
afternoon naps are a
bad idea for me. The line between
sleeping and being awake always blurs. All of these dreams happened in a two-hour time period.
- I hear voices coming from the living room. There's someone in the house! I live alone, so I know this isn't a good thing. I crawl out of bed, and stumble through the hallway. I don't make it to the end of the hallway, though; because I wake up (or dream that I wake up, I don't know which). This dream happened three times during the course of my nap, but on the third time, instead of getting out of bed, I just scream. At this point, I'm on the fence between being asleep and being awake, so a part of me hopes that the people in my house heard it and decide to leave, and another part of me hopes that I didn't really scream, and if I did, no neighbors heard me and think that something's wrong.
- This is one of those odd dreams I get when I see nothing, but hear things. "Summer Moved On" by A-ha plays in my head, but, unlike the times when I get songs stuck in my head, this is really loud, and it sounds like it's coming from an outside source. This one happened to me twice.
- The young female lawyer (I mean really young, like 17), walks into her office after a hard day's work. She steps into a small hot tub just barely big enough to contain her, while she's still fully clothed. Something (maybe a pager or a cellular phone) starts beeping. The beeping continues for a while. Then she turns to me and says "I'm done for today. That beeping's for you. You'd better wake up."
- I'm in a convenience store, looking for something to drink. The store has dozens of bottles of Snapple Elementals. Though the liquid in the bottles is red and there are flames on the bottles, they're all named "Cold".
