The third highest mountain in the Lake District, England, and one of the most spectacular. Being centrally placed and very well known, it could make a good claim for being the most climbed mountain in the United Kingdom.
The western side slopes down steeply to the Thirlmere valley, while the eastern side shatters into a complex series of precipitous ridges, the most famous being Striding Edge and Swirral Edge.
