Famous
Dutch soccer player. Cruijff was born in
1947 in
Amsterdam. He has played for many teams, and became well-known for his performance in
Ajax and in the
World Cup finals of
1974, where
The Netherlands made it to the final (only to lose from the G
ermans; this has become a national
trauma). His career as a soccer player ended in
1984, when he became technical
advisor for a number of soccer teams, including
Feyenoord,
Ajax, and
Barcelona.
He is sometimes referred to as the
Messiah, because of his ability to help out a team.
