Baruch is a complex and subtle philosopher, his idea of modes, and the reality of god is difficult to understand mainly because it is couched in language that was not equiped to deal with the concepts he wishes to represent. Nowadays there are more paraphrases of his work than ever before, and as the other arguments for the existence of god fall by the way of nihilism, good old Spinoza's arguments still have people thinking.

That can never be a bad thing.
