Offically, the Ralphs Grocery Company. It is a Southern California supermarket chain founded in 1879 with the original name of Ralphs Bros. Grocers by George A. Ralphs. Around 1911 the store tested out self-service and home delivery, shortly thereafter it became a chain. In 1995 it merged with now defunct, Alpha Beta, and Food 4 Less Supermarkets.
