Cockpit (place)

The Cockpit is a club and live music venue in Leeds, England. It is joined to The Rocket Bar and it's sometimes difficult to tell which door to go through for which club night. The club nights are mainly of the indie/rock/punk/alternative variety (just like the bands that play), and there's also a gay night.

There are three rooms to the Cockpit/Rocket, each of them has its own bar.

• The main room has a stage and an insanely loud sound system. This is where the bands play, or the best DJs spin their tunes. On Church of Pop night there are Go-Go dancing nuns in here. It gets quite hot when there are bands on, and with no air conditioning, sweat tends to drip from the walls.
• The middle room has a smaller stage and, mercifully, a slightly quieter sound system.
• The Rocket Bar normally has slightly more chilled music, and also has an upstairs with some big windows where you can draw pictures in the condensation.

The beer prices are definitely in the high end for Leeds, so it's a drink before you get there kind of place if getting drunk is your thing.
