Known in Catholic Bibles as The Books of Paralipomenon. It starts out with nine chapters (1 Chronicles 1 through 1 Chronicles 9) of family tree data and a lot of begats. Then it settles down and gives an executive summary of the reign of King David, including more smiting and talk about the Ark of the Covenant. For good measure it does a sort of census of the kingdom at the end.
In many ways it reiterates the story covered in
1 Kings and
2 Kings.
