Syntarsus was a small carnivorous dinosaur that lived in the early Jurassic period, in Zimbabwe, in Africa. It was about ten feet long and four feet high. It ate small lizards and mammals, as well as all the insects it could quickly nip up. It was nimble, running quickly about to get its food (as well as to prevent itself from being on someone else's menue). This dinosaur can be compared to Coelophysis; the two are quite similar (though the Syntarsus is larger). Some scientists speculate that there were feathers covering the skin of Syntarsus, and that it had a feathered crest. It's arms were long; so was its tail (for balancing when running). Its name means "fused tarsus" (the tarsus being a bone in the ankle).
