In New York City, there were Chock Full o'Nuts coffee shops/diners. There was one downtown near Central Park, and my Dad used to take me there when I was a wee lad. They were forerunners of the Seattle-based coffee shops

The shop originally sold different types of nuts in the early 20th century, expanding to coffee beans and brewed coffee later on. In time, they evolved into a hybrid diner-coffee shop, dotting the less affluent neighborhoods with an occasional appearance where someone bought the building early enough to not require being a multi-millionaire.

They're still in business, but I'm sure the meaning of the name has changed from the coffee to the type of patrons.
