Most of the major points have been hit, but I would just add that it's useful to
be seen handrolling. It can be an
icebreaker when you want one; it promotes the notion that just because you smoke,
RJR or
Philip Morris don't have to get your money; and it's usually good for a bit of friendly
banter with your local
law enforcement personnel, which is always good (unless you're in the process of committing a
crime). Also, like putting
Echelon keywords in your
.sig files, it supplies a bit of
camouflage; the more widely people are seen to handroll cigarettes, the less
suspicious the activity will generally become.
I think Thax missed the two biggest advantages, though:
Handroll tobacco is not boiled in glycerin or doped with saltpeter etc. to keep them burning, as regular cigarettes are, making handrolls a lot less hazardous to your health, and They taste much better.
