A room usually with one wall of mirrors, a wooden floor (that is scuffed up by persons wearing "marking shoes"), and a wooden bar opposite the mirrored wall. These environments are supposed to be clear of debris, and usually contain posted warnings: "No food nor drink". Much of the time, one can find an upright piano, and at least one white sock added to the room, perhaps for decoration.
