PerlBowling is a sport played in comp.lang.perl.misc and other places. The aim of the sport is to produce the longest possble Perl program to solve a given problem.
Perl Bowling can be played as an offensive sport, in which a newbie poster, clamoring for help, who has not read the documentation, is given an extremely long and/or obfuscated piece of code which achieves the requested function in a ludicrous way. The newbie will, of course, employ the code without realizing its ironic valence.
