The third wave of ska, known by those not in-the-know as simply ``ska'', borrows heavily characteristics of punk, most notably rhythm changes, fast beats, and heavy guitars. Typical ska artists include Reel Big Fish, The Toasters, and&Buck-O-Nine. Some punk artists, such as Rancid, will delve into ska every once in a while; and a few other bands such as Save Ferris and The Cherry Poppin' Daddies will incorporate swing and pop into the mix.
