Insidious and evil chain of family restaurants, most of which occupy listed buildings: despite this the interior decor is nearly always the same: plastic 'wooden' beams, horse brasses, lots of mass-produced chintz. The food has exotic titles, like 'poulet au fromage' which basically means a Kraft cheese square burnt onto an indifferent chicken breast. With it you get limp tasteless fries. Despite its nastiness, the food is not cheap. Avoid these places at all costs.
