A manually-powered "car" that was introduced in 1973 in response to the concerns of energy conservation. It was a pedal-powered one passenger vehicle with straight-line pedal action, disc brakes, five speeds (plus neutral and reverse). It cost about $550 (1973 dollars) and had a speed of 8 to 15 miles per hour. It was eventually developed for use around parks, resorts, college campuses, country clubs, and similar areas.
