My antibody level for a strep A antibody is back. It IS higher than the one from June. But not much higher, 232 versus 220. I think it peaked early last week and is on it's way down. I still feel fairly awful but not as awful as last week.

I've asked for one more level, to be sure it is going down. If it is still going up, well, hmmmm. Time to go back to the infectious disease specialist to say WHERE THE HELL IS THE INFECTION? I don't think it's going up, though. If the level correlate with how I am feeling, well, ok, that is off the scale weird but it's better than having an occult abscess that we can't locate and that keeps making me deathly ill. (My medical brain pipes up, we could look with a bone scan). Yeah, yeah, yeah. If it's going up I suspect a bone scan is the next test. Shut up, medical brain.

I was at a talk by a woman with a PhD, speaking about diabetes. She said that people who complain of low blood sugar can't really tell. That is, people who don't have diabetes. Perhaps. But for years, when I go long enough without eating, my nail beds turn bluish, my fingers get cold and I get grumpy. I've tested my blood sugar then. It is consistently a little below 70. Like, 66. Normal is 70-100 fasting. So it is not low enough to be dangerous, not low enough to cause harm, but I can tell....

....pretty weird if I can tell when I have strep A because the antibodies make me feel horrid. But not impossible by any means.

Also, there is a lag. The antibodies rise when strep A invades. They rise for a month. The lab is a send out here, took 5 days to come back. Do I take penicillin when I get grumpy? That is not right! But it is not in my throat! This time sinuses....

....may have to go talk to infectious disease specialist anyhow. rrrrrrr....
