Born in 1958, Max Goldt is possibly the most important contemporary German humourist. He started out writing a column for the legendary satire magazine Titanic, but has written his share of bizarre non-column prose. After several volumes of columns and other texts as well as records of his recitals had sold extremely well, he went into the comic business with a friend; the result of this cooperation is called Katz und Goldt and has published some of the outright strangest German comics ever.
