KTVT started its life as an independent station with no network affiliation. However, in the summer of 1995, when Fox purchased KDFW channel 4 in Dallas and switched from CBS to Fox, channel 11 became the CBS station in Dallas-Fort Worth. Their motto is "The Eye of Texas", a pun on both a popular song and CBS's symbol. Their studios are a can't miss architechtural wonder and can be viewed on the north side of Interstate 30 just east of downtown Fort Worth
